Grape Lake Kayak Race

1st Annual

The race will take place at the launch at Sunset Park (M/40 at Power Plant Rd.).  All participants will be timed and winners will be determined by the best time.  All participants must wear a life jacket.  A Waiver will be completed and signed must be received prior to the race.

Mark your calendars for this fast, flat USATF-certified 5k course around Maple Lake. Our race has been endorsed by the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Sports and is also part of the 90th Annual Challenge Fitness - Michigan Fruit Belt Series.  The proceeds from this event will benefit the Families Against Narcotics.

Families Against Narcotics (FAN) is a community based program for those seeking recovery, those in recovery, family members affected by addiction and community supporters. FAN seeks to change the face of addiction, dispel the stigma of addiction, and educate the community as well as those affected by addiction. (

37th Annual Vineyard Classic Bike Tour

3 Routes: 22 miles, 39 miles and 60 miles

Choose from three different routes that pass lush vineyards and orchards, right at the peak of harvest season. On this tour, you'll see the woods, rivers, lakes, and neighboring villages of the area. The event is sponsored by the Paw Paw Service League.

Coca Cola Grape Stomp

For thousands of years, people have used grape stomping as a means of making wine. Join in on this fun tradition and try to out-stomp the competition. We won't be making wine with the juice you press, but we will be weighing it to find a winner. Events run throughout the weekend.  New this year, you can jump in the vat and stomp grapes on your own in our open stomping.

40th Annual Arts & Craft Show

24th Annual Grape Escape Classic Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show

Paw Paw and the surrounding area has been referred to as the Napa Valley of the Midwest. We are happy to offer several opportunities for you to visit our local wineries and taste the unique fruit of the vine that can only be found in this area. During this event, you can taste from a variety of beers, wines and ciders from regional Cider Mills, Wineries and Breweries.   Participants include Barn Brewers, Vineyard 2121, Silver Harbor Brewing, Great Mead Hall, Pear's Original Cider, and Cody Kresta Winery.

Kiwanis Turtle Derby

Take your pick and guess which turtle will win the race!  Downtown in front of Village Hall.  Jockeys pay $10 per person.  Help support the projects the Paw Paw Kiwanis Club.

Sponsored by Family Fare, this is a perfect place for kids' of all ages.  Stompyland is a FREE event that has something for children of all ages.  It is open from 10 m to 5 pm on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017  and Sunday following the parade. Stonpyland is located right next door to Amore's Pizza.  On Saturday, the Tot Big Wheel race will take place on Michigan Ave. with prizes for the kids, from 10 am to Noon.  Enjoy magician Christian Hill on Sunday following the parade.  Both days a bouncie house will be running free of charge for the kids and the dunk tank which is a fundraiser for a local organization will be ready for you to throw your best pitch.

Hole-in-One Contest

Test your driving skills and aim with our hole-in-one contest. To qualify, you must be able to get your ball to land on our “green,” a raft in the lake. Then, on Sunday, 50 participants will have one chance to get that hole-in-one at 135 yards away.  This event benefits the Paw Paw Wings of God.

Lions Club Duck Race

The Paw Paw Lions Club will host a Duck Race again this year, to support the Blue Star Mothers and the Journey Beads Program at the Bronson Hospital Oncology Unit.  The proceeds will support our troops and children with cancer.  See a Lions Club member to purchase a Duck.
