Kiwanis Turtle Derby
Fast red earred sliders
will be on hand for the Kiwanis Turtle Derby on Saturday morning during
the Wine and Harvest Festival on the Courthouse lawn!
The Kiwanis Turtle Derby
is held every year during the Wine and Harvest Festival to help support
our many local charitable activities. Please complete the
pre-registration form and mail it back or bring it with you and enter
your jockey on Saturday morning. Please indicate on the form the
names of the jockey(s) you would like to enter. If you would like
us to assign names just leave that area blank and check the box for us
to assign names. The entry fee is just $10 per name per race.
The jockeys are of course
invited to race the turtles (only those turtles provided by the Paw Paw
Kiwanis club are permitted) and they name of the jockey and their
sponsors will be read before each heat. This is a good way to
advertise your business. A prize will be awarded to each race
winner and the winner of each heat will then enter a semi-final race and
the top three winners can win a bicycle, stereo or other great prizes.
The race will be held on
Saturday, September 6th in the Country Courthouse parking lot beginning
at 9:00 am. There will be a board with approximate race times
posted, please arrive early because sometimes the races go faster than
scheduled. Thank you from the Paw Paw Kiwanis Club.
